WEKID Certification Program

Learn to Evaluate Knowledge. Govern AI Decision Authority.

The WEKID Certification Program teaches professionals how to evaluate Epistemic Maturity, carry an output across the Trust Bridge to a maturity ceiling, and apply the Decision Authority Model to real-world AI governance. Two credentials — Practitioner and Authority — are each offered at Level 1 (non-technical) and Level 2 (technical), giving four certifications. Participants complete scenario-based assessments and earn branded credentials that signal verified understanding of both WEKID models, governance design, and applied use.

the evidence

Why certification matters

The governance gap is real, governance pays, and the market prices verified capability. Independent research makes the case.

<1%

of organizations have fully operationalized responsible AI — 81% remain in the earliest stages of maturity.

World Economic Forum & Accenture, 2025
≈60%

of executives say responsible AI boosts ROI, efficiency, and customer experience.

PwC US Responsible AI Survey, 2025
56%

average wage premium for workers with verified AI skills — up from 25% just one year earlier.

PwC Global AI Jobs Barometer, 2025

planned AI & machine-learning certifications more than doubled in two years.

Pearson VUE Value of IT Certification, 2025

Certification is how a framework becomes a shared language — verified, portable, and recognized.

certification structure

Two credentials. Two levels. Four certifications.

The credential — Practitioner or Authority — is the depth of capability it validates. The level — 1 or 2 — is the pathway it takes: Level 1 is the non-technical pathway, Level 2 the technical. Every combination exists, which is why there are four.

Credential Level 1 · Non-Technical Level 2 · Technical
PractitionerFoundational understanding Level 1 PractitionerBoth models and the Trust Bridge for leadership, policy, risk, and decision-rights design. Level 2 PractitionerLayer scoring, hard gates, and the Authority Levels a maturity ceiling admits.
AuthorityApplied capability Level 1 AuthorityExecutive governance, delegated authority, and standing AL-4 reservations. Level 2 AuthorityResolving Authority Levels under the two determinants and implementing the controls.

Level is a pathway, not a rank. Level 2 is not senior to Level 1 — it is the technical route through the same material. A Level 1 Authority and a Level 2 Authority validate the same depth of capability for different audiences. Seniority runs along the other axis: Authority builds on Practitioner.

Credential

WEKID Practitioner Certified

Validates: Foundational understanding, at either level.

Focus: The WEKID Epistemic Maturity Model, the five-layer hierarchy, the Trust Bridge and what a maturity ceiling does and does not permit, the five Authority Levels AL-0 through AL-4, trust risks, and governance boundaries.

Assessment: Entry-level knowledge checks, applied scenarios, and baseline Epistemic Maturity scoring across W/E/K/I/D concepts.

Credential

WEKID Authority Certified

Validates: Applied capability, at either level.

Focus: Applying the Epistemic Maturity Model together with the Decision Authority Model — resolving a maturity ceiling against a stakes floor to an assigned Authority Level — through governance design, escalation logic, control mapping, and enterprise implementation patterns.

Assessment: Advanced scenario evaluation, maturity scoring, Trust Bridge admissibility, Decision Authority resolution under the two determinants, control alignment, and practical application in real operating environments.

Assessment Tools

Built for measurable outcomes

Program assessments support role-based exams and the development of Epistemic Maturity, Decision Authority, and governance-readiness tools.

Results can support learning, internal readiness reviews, renewal tracking, and customer-facing credibility programs.

Level 1 · Non-Technical

For executives, policy, risk, and business leaders

Decision and leadership focused

Covers strategic interpretation of both WEKID models, accountability structures, delegated Decision Authority, why AI delegation peaks at AL-3 and AL-4 decisions stay human, trust and legitimacy risk, operating-model decisions, and executive governance responsibilities.

Level 2 · Technical

For architects, engineers, data, and governance teams

Operational and implementation focused

Covers Epistemic Maturity scoring, hard gates, the Trust Bridge and maturity ceilings, the Authority Levels AL-0 through AL-3 and standing AL-4 reservations, system controls, governance architecture, traceability, oversight points, and implementation patterns tied to intelligent systems.

Certificate Recognition

Verifiable digital certificates

Program completion recognition

Each of the four certifications can include a branded certificate and renewal or expiration tracking for continuing WEKID alignment.

certifications

The four WEKID certifications

Each certification names its credential and its level: the depth of capability validated, and the pathway taken to it.

Level 1 Practitioner • Non-Technical
WEKID Level 1 Practitioner badge, non-technical pathway

Signals: Verified understanding of both WEKID models and the Trust Bridge between them, for leadership, policy, risk, governance, and decision-rights design.

Level 2 Practitioner • Technical
WEKID Level 2 Practitioner badge, technical pathway

Signals: Verified technical understanding of Epistemic Maturity scoring, hard gates, and the Authority Levels a maturity ceiling admits.

Level 1 Authority • Non-Technical
WEKID Level 1 Authority badge, non-technical pathway

Signals: Demonstrated ability to apply both WEKID models to executive governance, delegated Decision Authority, standing AL-4 reservations, oversight, trust, and operating-model decisions.

Level 2 Authority • Technical
WEKID Level 2 Authority badge, technical pathway

Signals: Demonstrated ability to resolve Authority Levels under the two determinants and implement the resulting controls within enterprise systems and operating models.

Sample Exam Questions

The WEKID Certification Handbook includes Practitioner- and Authority-level sample questions that assess a candidate’s ability to evaluate Epistemic Maturity, establish the maturity ceiling the evidence supports, and resolve the appropriate Authority Level across real-world scenarios.
